Arkansas Static Opponents 2026-2029

LSU TigersThe Razorbacks and Tigers played for the first time way back in 1901. The hadn’t been the consistent annual rivalry as many others are. Predominantly due to the fact that Arkansas didn’t officially join the Southeastern Conference until 1992.

Even though the “Battle for the Golden Boot,” moniker didn’t come about until 1996, it has quickly become one of the most coveted prizes in all of college football and the fans of both Arkansas and LSU take winning it very seriously. The trophy itself cost $10,000 and weighs 200 lbs. It depicts the states of Arkansas and Louisiana which actually make the shape of a boot. Who knew?!

Coming into the 2025 season, LSU leads this all-time series 45-23-2. This year’s contest will be played on November 15, 2025 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, LA.

Missouri Tigers – Arkansas and Mizzou first played football against one another in 1906, but didn’t play each other very often afterward. Only 16 times total in the subsequent 119 years, however, rivalries don’t have to go back a long way to be intense. This one has a lot of deep seeded geopolitical and historical ideological undertones that makes “The Battle Line” rivalry newly special.

The schools play for the “Battle Line ” trophy which stands over 4 feet tall and was made of 180 lbs. of solid silver at a cost of nearly $20,000. Interestingly, it was designed by Arkansas alum, David Bazzel, who also designed the “Golden Boot” trophy fought over annually by Arkansas and LSU.

So far, Missouri has had the better of this rivalry, winning 12 of the 16 games played to date. This year’s edition will be played on the final Saturday of the season, when it belongs, November 29, 2025 in Fayetteville, AR.

Texas Longhorns – The Razorbacks and Longhorns started duking it out on the gridiron in 1894, playing 80 times over the following 130 years. They played nearly every season until Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992. Texas has won 57 of the 80 games and Arkansas 23.

There doesn’t appear to be a trophy at stake in this game, but don’t say this isn’t a rivalry. Not in front of Arkansans, at least! While Texas has been pre-occupied with Oklahoma in “The Red River Rivalry” and the renewal of their vitriol toward Texas A&M, folks in Fayetteville have been quietly hating the ‘Horns for the 30 years since playing them on a regular basis!

This year’s contest will be played on November 22, 2025 in Austin, TX.

P.S – “Steers Trounce Tough Porkers for 5th Victory” was the headline in the Austin American newspaper after the game in 1946. This IS a rivalry! Just sayin’!
