Essentially, I started this group of projects so I can spend time with my amazing daughter Emily, aka Boops. For years it was just me and her trying to figure everything out, and then she grew up, went off to college, and moved away. I miss her terribly so we decided to do some things together over the “inter-webs”. So, in the coming months, we will launch a gaming channel where she tries to teach me how to play video games. That will be hysterical! Also, we will have a weekly podcast called “The Boops and Faja Podcast” where we will discuss anything we can think of, both relevant and irrelevant. And lastly, I hope to have my own podcast to discuss all things Southeastern Conference sports. We will be setting up subscriptions for various access levels to all this mayhem, so stay tuned!
I will keep everyone up-to-date as these things unfold.
As it pertains to this blog, like a lot of you, I was born into a Southeastern Conference family. My parents were both Florida Gators, my uncle was a Georgia Bulldog, two of my sisters are Ole Miss Rebels and another is a Tulane Green Wave (formerly an SEC school). One of the Ole Miss Rebels went to medical school at OU in Norman, OK. Of my three best friends in the world, one went to LSU, another went to Mississippi State, and the third is a military veteran and crazy Florida Gators fan. My favorite connection to the SEC, however, is that my beloved daughter, Boops, went to school at Mississippi State (she has her cowbell to prove it).
I live in the Houston area now, so I’m beaten to death with UT and Texas A&M on a daily basis. I have former in-laws that live in Columbia, SC and old friends that live in Columbia, Missouri. And for the sake of transparency, I have two ex-wives that graduated from Ole Miss. You woulda thought after the first one that I…well, nothing. I’m guessing that’s, at least, partially why I’m a big “Hail State” guy now! Just sayin!
I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, but like the rest of you, I do have a passionate opinion on this particular subject, so I’m gonna spend my time voicing it here. Hopefully you will engage with me, and we’ll have some fun.
Boops and Faja! That’s it. That’s the team!
Beyond Boops and I blogging, we are open to publishing posts from members of our community — opinion pieces, insider info. about your favorite team, that sort of thing. We are looking for stories about the world of Southeastern Conference sports both on and off the field and are very interested in stories regarding everything not related to the main sports of football, baseball, and basketball. Reach out to me at admin@allsectalk.com to discuss.
